Slow down and rediscover the creativity that already lives within you. In this hands-on workshop, you will create a handmade sketchbook using simple bookbinding techniques and explore playful ways to fill its pages with drawing, collage, and stitching.

Through guided prompts and creative exercises, we will learn how to notice and collect small moments of wonder—whether it’s the shape of a leaf, a snippet of conversation, or the way light moves across a table. These observations become the starting point for simple creative rituals that can be practiced anywhere.

Creative rituals are small, repeatable acts of creative attention that help us slow down, notice our surroundings, and respond through making. They might take just a few minutes; sketching a shadow, collecting textures, writing a few words, or stitching a small mark, but over time they help build a meaningful relationship with creativity and everyday life.

Rather than focusing on artistic skill or perfection, this workshop encourages curiosity, experimentation, and presence. Participants will leave with a handmade sketchbook and a collection of creative prompts designed to help them reconnect with their creativity and build a sustainable practice of noticing, reflecting, and making.

Participants will explore:

Creative Rituals: Small, repeatable creative practices that encourage presence, observation, and curiosity.

Mindful Observation: Learning how to notice patterns, textures, colors, and details in everyday environments.

Creative Expression: Translating observation into visual responses through drawing, collage, and stitched marks.

All necessary supplies will be provided. You simply need to arrive with curiosity and a willingness to explore but are welcome to bring personal inspiration or small objects that spark curiosity, such as photographs, natural materials, or scraps of paper you would like to incorporate into your sketchbook.
